Applying for financial aid starts with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Here’s how to get started:
If you have questions about the process, contact our team. We can help!
Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College offers several ways to make your education more financially accessible, including:
Federal Pell Grants: Pell Grants are awarded based on financial need and do not require repayment. Eligible students can receive grants to help cover tuition and other educational expenses. To apply, complete the FAFSA and enter our school code 042474.
Federal Student Loans: Students may qualify for low-interest Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans through the U.S. Department of Education. These loans offer flexible repayment terms after graduation.
VA Education Benefits: As a VA-approved school, Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College proudly supports veterans and their families with access to educational benefits through programs like the GI Bill. Contact our Financial Aid Office to learn more.
Scholarships: The school offers limited tuition scholarships to qualified applicants. To be considered, students must complete a scholarship application and provide any additional documentation requested. Scholarships from the school may cover full or partial tuition and are awarded based on financial need, academic potential, personal motivation, and interview performance. All students who enroll during the scholarship period are eligible to apply.
In addition to our scholarship, we encourage you to explore other private scholarship options, including:
Independent organizations offer these private scholarships and have their own eligibility criteria, deadlines, and application processes. We recommend visiting the websites and reviewing the requirements yourself.
Private Loans: These loans are typically offered by banks or credit unions and are based on your credit. Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College doesn’t endorse any specific lender, and we encourage you to make sure you understand the terms of the loan and the repayment details before accepting. Our team can help you understand how private loans work and what to consider before applying.

Many students will find that even with federal financial aid and private scholarships, they may still need to cover part of their beauty education costs out of their own pocket. Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College offers interest-free monthly installment plans to help students pay their remaining tuition balance. This allows you to spread the cost of your tuition over your enrollment period without incurring interest charges.
Our payment plans:
If your payment is more than 30 days past due, you will not be allowed to attend class until your account is up to date. If you need assistance or adjustments to your plan, our financial aid team is here to help you stay on track.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify and is available for our full-length courses, including Basic Cosmetology and Barber Hairstyling. Short-term courses like the Crossover Barber program are not eligible for federal financial aid, but other options, such as payment plans, may be available. Our admissions team can help you understand which programs are eligible and guide you through the application process.
This is very common, so don’t worry if your federal aid doesn’t cover the entire cost of your tuition. You may still be able to explore private scholarship and private loan options. We also offer interest-free monthly installment plans to help bridge the gap. Our financial aid team can help you explore all of your options.
When completing the FAFSA, be sure to enter our school code: 042474. This ensures your application is sent directly to Ea La Mar’s Cosmetology & Barber College for review.
If you are considered a dependent student by federal guidelines, then yes, you’ll need your parents’ income and tax information. If you are an independent student (based on age, marital status, and other factors), you can submit your own financial details. The FAFSA website provides a checklist to help you determine if you are a dependent student or not.
You don’t have to, but you should because you can do it for free! Even if you don’t think you’ll be eligible for federal financial aid, it’s a good idea to fill out the FAFSA. It’s free to apply and opens the door to multiple funding options to make your beauty education more affordable. There is nothing to lose and potential valuable funding to gain. If you are concerned about filling out the FAFSA, talk to our financial aid team.
